I participate in opinion polls from time to time. One of the polling companies sends quick results of their polls to panelist via email after every poll is complete.
I’m sure by now you’ve all heard about President Obama’s call to have Rick Waggoner, GM’s former chief executive resign. I can scarcely credit it. Even the most ardent supporter of monarchy in the days of our founders would never have dreamed of the President of the United States telling a private citizen where he could and could not work.
And yet, according to the poll I participated in yesterday…

| Percentage who think the president’s actions with regards to the GM CEO were "appropriate" |

On behalf of myself, and of like minded individuals, I hereby apologize to my children, to my granddaughter, and to the children of future generations. I know that I and my generation have squandered one of the greatest legacies ever given to a generation of humanity and saddled you with lifetimes of bondage to the state.
We stood by while the people we elected took the wealth of generations and squandered it, spending lavishly on foolish things. We have rewarded the profligate while demonizing the industrious. In the name of “fairness” we have taken the wealth of the productive few in exchange for a handout from an ever growing government.

UPDATE: The plan appears to be moving forward with Obama’s approval.
And that means for service related injuries too….like war injuries.
Yep…liberals sure do know how to support the troops…
Senators slam plan for wounded vets to use private insurance
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance.
But the proposal would be “dead on arrival” if it’s sent to Congress, Sen. Patty Murray, D-Washington, said.
Murray used that blunt terminology when she told Shinseki that the idea would not be acceptable and would be rejected if formally proposed. Her remarks came during a hearing before the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs about the 2010 budget.
