I haven’t written about the Seahawks this season. They haven’t done too badly, taking first place in their division last week. That is, they haven’t done too badly until today.
Today’s game was a rematch of the 2005 super bowl. That was a disappointing game, and a lot of Seahawk fans thought that bad officiating cost the team the world championship.
The Seahawks certainly didn’t play like a championship team today. The defense started out well, but the offense was lackluster. Ultimately the defense was worn down and Seattle went into the locker room down seven at the half.
The third quarter was horrible. Despite major penalties the Steelers managed to hold onto the ball for ten minutes and 110 offensive yards.
Deion Branch left the game early. Shawn Alexander’s longest rush for the entire game was 8 yards. The Steelers completely shut out the Seahawks, 21 to nothing.

I had never heard of State Rep. Chirs Hurst, Democrat from Enumclaw, until this morning, when I ran across an opinion piece he wrote in the News Tribune. Not too surprsing, since I am not one of his constituents, and from glancing at his bio, he seems to be a pretty solid guy - by which I mean I doubt someone with his background would be prone to making silly airhead statements, like so many of his party bretheren do.
His piece in the News Tribune did not disappoint. In fact, I felt compelled to post this, and state is public, for all to see, that I AGREE with him.
