You may recall my harsh blogging last night in which I mentioned by the King County Council meeting yesterday they saved $110,000 from a separate voter's pamphlet on I-25 as they turned the right of King County citizens to elect their elections director from a two step jig into a three-step tangle as Liberty Live explains.  Well, The Seattle Times intrepid journalist Keith Ervin exposed that, "Holding a separate election [for the elections director] in February 2009 would cost between $1 million and $2.9 million."

Now, there was a way around this.  By having Initiative 25 amend the county charter rather than this November trigger the charter amendment vote next November the vote for an elected elections director could have coincided with the Presidential primaries.  But no!!!!  Those "Democrats" sure "know" best.
