Just for fun…

Recently, the world's largest plane - the Antonov AN-225 - landed at Boeing Field.  Thankfully, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer shot some good pictures.

Somewhere, in my print photo collection, I have a picture of an AN-124 at Paine Field.  Let me tell you as an aviation buff, aviation buffs live for a chance to see these mega-jets up close and personal.

    I worked on C-5s for 12 years, and 777s for 3.

    I dont impress much anymore.

But even so Id love a good look at the 225.

    Minor plane buff trivia:

The 6 engines on the 225 each have 51k lb thrust rating.  The four 777 engines it is hauling on this trip are much larger and have trust ratings anywhere from 71K to 115K lb ratings.

Thanks for the comments LSU :-).

Yup, the AN-225 could trade in its six engines for four 777 engines.  Wow, how far behind the Soviets are…
