Open Government Blog by Allied Law Group is in full Jedi against the Sith mode, taking the fight to Darth Vader/Tom Carr (start from the bottom). The mainstream media/establishment media bias against opaque governance is also in full swing. Just see THIS Google News string, which also very kindly incorporates the superblog Sound Politics as well as local MSM and Associated Press (AP).
Among the editorials replying to the callous Gregoire appointment of Tom Carr as chair in the wake of his support of overly broad attorney-client privledge to hide documents and "blocked the release of a "very critical" report on the police department written by its civilian review board" is a Seattle Times gem. I'm still too upset - partially because of personal issues unrelated to this issue or this blog - at his appointment to propose what Tom Carr should do with his appointment, but The Seattle Times Editorial Board has some ideas worth not just republishing but my wholehearted endorsement. As I posted in a comment here a few moments ago, I've been in the Deep South attending my son's graduation far away from laptops and ferries and cool breezes, but amidst a lot of hot air (of a purely weather variety). Now I'm catching up and finding out about the curious fellows scoping out our ferries and I'd like to know what NW Bloggers think about the Seattle PI refusing to publish the photos of said curious gentlemen. It's a topic in the non-NW blogosphere, but if it's been discussed here, I haven't found it yet. Greetings and salutations to all.

Seriously. Anybody who gets into a car with at least two shots of wine is a drunk with a 2- to 4,000 pound assault weapon who could drive that thing right into a bicyclist or an early morning commuter just as easily as taking a leak. The evidence against Jane Hague Springman is simply put, overwhelming and from credible sources.
At the very least, she should be suspended from King County Council Republican Caucus until proven not guilty. At the maximum if found guilty, recalled. But to pull off a recall, and I've looked at the state constitution and the RCW, would require some tapdancing that driving drunk = ""malfeasance" in office means the commission of an unlawful act" directly related to the duties of King County Councilwoman. Hey, if we could pull that off though… no more politicians accepting alcohol at events!!
