He asked for this… He volunteered. That mad adventure was more important than her… Which says something about how much he valued their future.
And don’t try the line he was protecting a future. That is a lie.

I won’t point out how presumptuous it is for you do decide why he did what he did. I won’t bother pointing out all your silly assumptions. I would just point out that he understood something you apparently never will.
In Possum’s little tiny world, everybody else is a fool. It’s interesting that Possum’s got all the answers - yet doesn’t seem to understand the questions.
