Yes, those loveable idiots at METRO think it's time for a "transportation tax". So they're looking at putting a tax measure for "roads and transit" on next year's ballot. Well gee. What a surprise.
Roads and transit? What a laugh. They're "planning" "transit" that you don't use. And Tri-Met siphons off your tax dollars to do it. You don't even get to vote on light rail any more - guess that double, resounding "NO" really hurt their feelings, eh? But they know better than you, and so they've built a lot of light rail at huge expense. Not all that many folks ride the trains, and many of those who do simply don't pay. Meanwhile, you're stuck in gridlocked traffic on potholed roads - exactly as they've "planned". This is supposed to force you out of your car, and onto trains that don't take you anyplace you want to go.
