Did Pelosi Commit A Felony?
The Wall Street Journal suggests today that it's entirely possible that, in visiting Syria, she did. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable by a fine, up to three years' imprisonment, or both. It seems clear that Pelosi's diplomatic mission, in defiance of the wishes of both the White House and the State Department, is indicative of a view that the provisions in the Act somehow do not apply to her. The Journal, in fact, suggests that Patrick Fitzgerald of the Scooter Libby case should now turn his attention to Ms. Pelosi.
