Tidbits
Here's some clippings I found of interest from the past few days:
-
Elizabeth Hovde, The Columbian's resident conservative notes how we can have embryonic stem cells without ethics problems. Try the umbilical cord between the mother and the unborn. Some hospitals already have a program to save the cords and there's a national means to donate umbrical cord blood - via Cryobanks.
-
Stephen Taylor, Canada's premier Conservative blogger, was kicked out of the Canadian Legislature by… the Parliamentary Press Gallery. Word to the wise: Be grateful, my fellow Americans, you live in a country with an older Bill of Rights.
-
Rep. Charles Rangel admits on "Meet the Press", "That bill, we lost so many Democrats, one, because people thought we went too far and others because we didn’t go far enough. And so a lot of things had to go into a bill that certainly those of us who respect great legislation did not want in there." Go HERE for all the details.
-
Jay Alan Sekulow, Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, weighs in on the controversy as to the US Attorney firings. He believes Congress is trampling on executive privledge (and I don't necessarily agree).
-
The Washington State Legislature actually did something 1/3rd of the way right. They passed mental health parity legislation… for 1/3rd of our citizens.
