The news seems grim, that the Bush Administration and the DOJ purged 8 US Attorney's including the one from Seattle.
The foes, including Hillary, charge the firings are political.
Of course they are, the position is a political appointee, like the President's Cabinet.
And Hillary should know that intimately: Her husband and his AG Janet Reno fired 93 in one swoop. But apparently that is vastly different. Once again the Democrats leap on a non issue for partisan gain.
Hillary Clinton Calls for Gonzales' Resignation

You know all about being careful with your credit cards, shredding your documents, and not sticking those ever-present credit offers out with the recyclables. But if you still dash off to the local grocery or print shop to make copies of your tax forms, you may have a problem. It turns out that copier technology has changed somewhat, and the data you think you're just paying to copy is also stored on a hard drive. How cool is that?
Sharp was among the first to offer a security kit that encrypts or rewrites the drive. Xerox plans to offer similar measures Real Soon Now.
In the meantime, photocopy your butt - not your tax returns.

Our old buddies, the ALF loons, have decided to put in another appearance in our neck of the woods. The brave "freedom fighters" have apparently taken credit for sneaking onto the property of a Portland-area financial advisor and vandalizing his home and car. Having heroically performed this feat of amazing skill and endurance, they went back to their Mom's basement and sent out anonymous emails threatening more of the same:
"This is a warning to Wachovia," the Animal Liberation Front wrote in a claim of responsibility e-mailed to news media on Monday. "Sell your shares in (GlaxoSmithKline) or the ALF will continue to target the homes and property of your employees."
Oooh, that's just so scary. Do what we want you to do, or else. Bring it on, boys and girls! That's why we have security systems - and guns. Seems like a great time to buy more shares in GSK, by the way.

Prominent atmospheric chemist AlGore is now taking some warming of his own. You know things're bad when even The New York Times gets critical, calling for a cooling of the hype. Worse yet, their article notes scientist after scientist who caution about exaggeration. Over at Newsbusters, Noel Sheppard skillfully dissects a number of the major points raised.
And then it gets worse. A recent article in Central Connecticut State University's publication notes that the Toyota Prius hybrid car is the source of some of the worst pollution in North America. Yes, that emblem of the greeniacs, that badge that shows how much they "care" is actually among the worst products one can buy, in terms of deleterious effect on the environment.
