Auugh!

As Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) recently noted, a lot of science seems to be beating a retreat from the stance of AlGore and other extremists. Rather than "global warming is happening and It's All Your Fault!", the pendulum's already swinging back. This is in fact very similar to the phenomenon we observed in the 1970's, when anthropogenic gas emissions due to technology were widely viewed (initially) as dooming us all to a highly glaciated environment. After a few years, the hysteria settled down as scientists began to conclude that maybe we weren't all gonna die in an Ice Age that was All Your Fault. We're seeing the same initial hysteria, followed by a trend toward scientific consensus that, on second look, it doesn't really look as though humans are causing the current warming trend. There may even be a case to be made for the concept that Earth goes through climatological cycles that really have nothing to do with humans. Gee. Imagine that.

Living in the PDX area, you may be unaware of the huge uptick in immigrants. Not here, but in South Florida. And they're not illegal Hispanics - they're legal asylum-seekers (although most are here on valid visas, rather than undertaking the risky asylum evaluations). Who are these people, and why are they flocking to seek asylum in America? And where are they coming from? The answers may surprise you.
They're Jews. And they're coming here from France. Wait…what?
"…the general hostility of Muslims in France toward Jews, is what's behind my decision to leave,'' said Kukurudz, who now lives with his wife and their three daughters, including Audrey, in Surfside.
Yes, more again from our "peace-loving" Muslim "friends". Yet some idiots still cling to the belief that we can "sit at the table" and "negotiate" with these loons. In point of fact, there's only one form of negotiation that is guaranteed to bring a successful outcome. It doesn't involve "sitting at the table".

And of course, that's precisely what Kate Brown and her pals are up to with SB 776: the goal is stifle those who disagree with the views of "Planned Parenthood" and NARAL. Accordingly, Kate and her buddies plan to require a DHS "study" of alternative-to-abortion organizations. This bill is larded with allegations:
Whereas 'alternative-to-abortion organizations,' also called
'crisis pregnancy centers,' misinform and mislead women to deter
or to delay them from having abortions; and
Whereas there are 51 alternative-to-abortion organizations or
crisis pregnancy centers operating in Oregon; and
Whereas some crisis pregnancy centers intentionally choose
their names to mislead women into believing that the centers
offer a wide range of family planning and abortion care when they
do not; and
Whereas in order to confuse their clients and capitalize on
their patients' confusion, crisis pregnancy centers design their
facilities to look like health care facilities and locate the
facilities near clinics that offer family planning and abortion
care; and
Whereas many crisis pregnancy centers not only mislead women
about abortion care but also will not provide information about
birth control;
