Global Warming is caused by you, and we're all gonna die! The Antarctic Ice Sheet's melting, ocean levels will rise 23 feet (just ask eminent climatologis AlGore) and we're all gonna drown or worse! Oh, wait….
In spite of all the horror stories we hear about the ever-accelerating wasting away of Antarctica in response to a warming that climate alarmists can hardly find sufficiently-dramatic negative superlatives to describe, there has been no net change in the frigid continent's total area of negative specific surface mass balance, nor in its rate of mass loss, over the past quarter-century.
Well darn. It's looking more and more as though AlGore and his pals will have to find something else to scare us all to death with.

Speaking of illegal aliens, Senator Smith…. Well golly. We really need to stop pestering those poor folks who only come here to do the jobs Americans won't do.
About 11 p.m. Wednesday, agents from ICE's Santa Ana office joined Anaheim and Irvine police to raid the home. They said they found a spartanly furnished safehouse with several adults, five children younger than 10 and a cache of narcotics.
In addition to the heroin, agents said they discovered 34 pounds of marijuana, 3 pounds of what appeared to be methamphetamine and several thousand dollars. The drugs carried a total wholesale value of $1.3 million and could have garnered $4 million to $6 million at the retail level.

Now, this is truly weird: a column in the predominately leftist-oriented blog that echoes what many conservatives and centrists have been saying for quite some time. Of course, the reasons are entirely different, but the conclusion that it's time for Senator Gordon Smith to return to his pea-packin' plant is identical.
Conservatives and centrists have long supported deporting Smith, due largely to his support for continued porous borders and the resultant tide of illegal aliens that sweep across our fruited plains. Over at Blue, the outrage is over comments by the Senator that suggest that Democrats don't support our troops in Iraq. That's rather a curious thing to get worked up about, because as Murtha has made very clear - Democrats don't support our troops. Thus the "slow bleed" policy that he and others hope to implement. Noetheless, the sense of outrage over at Blue is palpable: "It is long past time for all of us to make it clear that we will no longer tolerate this kind of divisive, irresponsible rhetoric from our leaders."

Environmeddlists use the term "sustainable development" purely as a means to fool people into believing that they're all for environmentally benign economic development when in fact they are generally opposed to development of any kind. Nowhere is their tyranny more acutely felt than in third-world countries, where the econuts would have you believe that impoverished residents actually prefer a "poor but happy" lifestyle. Not so. Environmeddlists have made concerted and successful efforts to block development in Africa, Latin America, and elsewhere.
The film then moves to Madagascar where another development project is opposed by the World Wildlife Fund. In an interview that must be seen to be believed, the WWF spokesman defends his opposition to the project by noting that it would only bring stress to the lives of the local population. According to the WWF spokesman, the locals would rather sit around and smile than be burdened with economic progress, or in the alternative, would simply fritter their newfound wealth away on first-world decadence like beer, stereos and jeans.
