The New Religion

Posted by MaxRedline @ 1:49 pm

In his new book Apollo’s Arrow, ambitiously subtitled The Science of Prediction and the Future of Everything, Vancouver-based author and mathematician David Orrell set out to explain why the mathematical models scientists use to predict the weather, the climate and the economy are not getting any better, just more refined in their uncertainty.

in its myths of the Fall and the Apocalypse, its saints and heretics, its iconography and tithing, its reliance on prophecy, even its schisms — the green movement now exhibits the same psychology of compliance as religion.

In a 2003 speech in San Francisco, best-selling author Michael Crichton was among the first to explicitly close the circle, calling modern environmentalism “the religion of choice for urban atheists … a perfect 21st century re-mapping of traditional JudeoChristian beliefs and myths.”

As noted previously, Global Warming has moved out of the realm of science, and is a virtual religion today.  Its most prominent High Priest is presently the reknowned climatologist and co-inventor of the Internet, AlGore.  According to his sermon, Global Warming is real, and It's All Your Fault.

The heretics of the present day note that while global warming is real, as is global cooling, it is definitely not All Your Fault.  In fact, your contribution toward either cycle is neglible.  The natural cycles of the planet have become politicised, and therefore used by governments to make policy decisions.  In general, as governments and politicians attempt to accrue power by any means available, Global Warming has been seized upon as a perfect means by which to club you into further submission to their will, and to strip away your individual rights and the power that attends them.*

That’s right… It’s all your fault - it isn’t mine at all! Now let’s see… I have my stake, my rope, my dry faggots and my kerosene… All I need is a heretic… C’mere Max! :-)
