Update on HB 1473

Just got this, via sources, from the House Republican Caucus as an update to my post last Friday:

There will be an anti-HB 1473 rally on Wednesday, February 7th at 12 noon on the front steps of the Capitol Building. We are hoping for a large turn out to show that people do not want this bill to pass. Please come and show your support of a NO-VOTE on HB1473.

I can't make it, but if you can - please go.  If you can't, contact your state legislators from this link that tells you which ones you've got if you would please.  Or leave comments on the WashingtonVotes.org page for the bill.

The Whining Begins In 3…2…1…

No, wait - it's already started!  Apologists for "hard-working illegal aliens who only come here to do the jobs Americans won't do" are all atwitter over a new federal law that's about to take effect.  The law allows feds to take DNA samples as well as fingerprints from detainees.

The Justice Department is completing rules to allow the collection of DNA from most people arrested or detained by federal authorities, a vast expansion of DNA gathering that will include hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, by far the largest group affected.

Peter Neufeld, a lawyer who is a co-director of the Innocence Project, which has exonerated dozens of prison inmates using DNA evidence, said the government was overreaching by seeking to apply DNA sampling as universally as fingerprinting.

Understanding Islam

It's important to know one's enemy.  And in this case, doubly so.

(Koran of Mecca) 73:10: Listen to what they [unbelievers] say with patience, and leave them with dignity.

From tolerance we move to the ultimate intolerance, not even the Lord of the Universe can stand the unbelievers:

(Koran of Medina) 8:12  Then your Lord spoke to His angels and said, “I will be with you. Give strength to the believers. I will send terror into the unbelievers’ hearts, cut off their heads and even the tips of their fingers!”

All of Western logic is based upon the law of contradiction—if two things contradict, then at least one of them is false. But Islamic logic is dualistic; two things can contradict each other and both are true.
