We need to lynch a few corporate operators... The corporate structure is enemy #1 of the American worler - whether the corporations are hiring illegals like Swift does or outsourcing jobs like Microsoft and HP...   The purpose of a corporation is to make money. Therefore the answer is simple. Take the money. Swift's owners should forfeit everything they own. The company should be forced into something along the lines of a super bankruptcy and the court should turn the current group of managers out, period. If there are stockholders who are harmed, they should be allowed to go after the management.   I know... That's horribly "unfair" in the face of the plausible deniability provided by Federal regulations that hamper employers from really digging into employees' ID records and Federal documentation systems that can be defrauded by any moron with a PC... So...   Here's a first "hundred days" for the Democrats - if they are actually the party of Joe American worker. First, abolish all remaining "don't ask" regulations and beef up the social security # check system - an employer should be able to check a # instantly and there should be available cross-references which include a photo ID. Next, declare a 90 day employer amnesty. Give all employers 90 days to verify every worker nationwide.   From then on, it's the employer's ass. It should be a go to jail felony to employ an illegal worker.   Concurrently... We need an entirely rethought approach to unions. Companies should have to accept any union activities, period. And it should be on the employer to prove they aren't engaging in labor market manipulation or union busting. Unions should be top dog...   And I'm rooting for this lawsuit... Sue them bankrupt.   Finally, if you <a href="http://nwbloggers.com/2006/12/20/knowledge-knots-for-the-anti-drug-boneheads" rel="nofollow">legalized pot</a> you would cut the border troubles in half...
