The Flying Imams

Published by MaxRedline at 4:03 pm under Northwest

Well, Darn! What do you suppose those six guys were trying to do?

Although the men all boarded the plane together, they spread out once they were inside — as if mimicking the 9/11 hijackers — two in the front of the plane, two in the middle and two in the rear. According to the airline, some took seats not assigned to them. Thus establishing control of all entry and exit points on the plane.

Not just one passenger (as had been reported) but multiple people on the plane and in the airport prior to boarding reported that the group of men was acting suspiciously.

Writing in the New York Post, Richard Miniter reports that, contrary to reports that the airline acted precipitously or singled anyone out for "flying while Muslim," the captain of the flight consulted several sources — including a federal air marshal — before making the decision to remove the Imams. All agreed that the men were behaving suspiciously. USAir is my airline of choice from now on!

As more and more information comes to light, it's becoming clear that US Airways should be commended for the fair and professional manner in which it handled this situation.

Recall that the six Imams were removed from a US Airways flight from Minneapolis to Phoenix after exhibiting suspicious behavior. They quickly produced a lawyer who argued that their rights had been violated and news reports were quick to assert that the airline had acted improperly.

Frankly, no. These dorks have the same rights as anyone else: behave appropriately on an airliner, or suffer the consequences of your failure. The facts of the matter are clear and easy to understand: since 9/11, thousands of Muslims have flown on our aircraft without incident; at the same time, airline staff have become sensitised to the distinctions between normal passenger behavior and abnormal (thus suspicious) behavior). The so-called Imams clearly made every attempt to provoke an incident in hopes of playing the "race card" - flying while Muslim. They had a lawyer on standby; the whole thing was set up, to soften us up.

Just one little problem: the facts speak for themselves. It's hard to play the "race card" successfully when thousands of "your bretheren" have flown freely, without incident.
